Positive Pathways

Positive Pathways reaches out to some of the most marginalised people in Middlesbrough, providing individual and group support for vulnerable people experiencing homelessness.

Positive Pathways is a five year programme supported by the Church Urban Fund and the Bramall Foundation. With our delivery partner, DePaul, we help people struggling with homelessness, addiction, mental health and isolation issues on their path to more sustainable living.

We work with a wider support partnership that includes the local authority, Breaking the Boundaries Outreach Team, Homeless Forum, MIND, Jobcentre Plus, Recovery Connections and others.

The project aims to provide one-to-one and individualised support, and we run regular café-style drop-in sessions where trust and relationships can be built. There are also therapeutic group sessions to help restore people’s confidence, improve their wellbeing and self-esteem, and help them develop life skills. These sessions include meditation, singing with Streetwise Opera, creative writing, walking groups and more.

The Positive Pathways project is entering an exciting new phaseand we have new volunteering opportunities.
